Foreign trade of the European Union with wine, with an emphasis on the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zahraničním obchodem Evropské unie s vínem s důrazem na Českou republiku. Hlavním cílem mé bakalářské práce je charakterizovat mikroprostředí a makroprostředí vinařské firmy pomocí analýzy PEST a také zhodnotit silné a slabé stránky a příležitosti a hrozby pomocí analýzy SWOT. Jako dílčí cíl jsem si stanovila zodpovězení otázky: konkurenceschopnost tradičních producentů a exportérů vína roste, nebo klesá? První kapitola obsahuje teoretická východiska pro zpracování zbývajících dvou kapitol. Jedná se o zeměpisná označení, pravidla pro výsadbu vinné révy v EU, mezinárodní konkurenceschopnost a metodiku použitých analýz. Druhá kapitola se zabývá trhem s vínem v EU, zemích Nového světa a ČR. Ve třetí kapitole je analyzována vinařská firma VINICOLA, s.r.o. pomocí PEST a SWOT analýzy. Po zhodnocení jejích silných a slabých stránek a také příležitostí a hrozeb jsou v závěru kapitoly uvedena doporučení pro firmu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the foreign trade of the European Union with wine with an emphasis on the Czech Republic. The main objective of my bachelor thesis is to characterize the microenvironment and the macroenvironment of a wine company by using the PEST analysis and also to assess strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats by using SWOT analysis. I also set a sub-objective which is to answer the question: does competitiveness of traditional producers and exporters of wine increase or decrease? The first chapter provides the theoretical basis for elaboration of two remaining chapters. These are the geographical indications, the rules for planting of vineyards in the EU, the international competitiveness and the methodology of used analysis. The second chapter deals with the wine market in the EU, the New world countries and the Czech Republic. In the third chapter, wine company VINICOLA LLC is assessed by using PEST and SWOT analysis. After assessing its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, at the end of this chapter, there are presented few recommendations for the company.
