Designing tasks for interactive whiteboards

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářská práce je interaktivní tabule a možnosti jejího využití především ve výuce anglického jazyka. Práce nejprve pojednává o technické stránce, typech tabulí, dostupnosti a také porovnává rozšíření této pomůcky u nás a v zahraničí. Další části jsou věnovány jednak programu SMART Notebook, který uživateli umožňuje co nejvíce využít potenciál interaktivní tabule, dále pak speciálním interaktivním učebnicím a také didaktické stránce práce s interaktivní tabulí. Zmiňuji také negativa, která se mohou vyskytnout v souvislosti s využíváním interaktivních tabulí. Praktická část práce popisuje aktivity pro výuku anglického jazyka, které jsem se svými žáky použil v poslední době. Tyto aktivity jsou rozděleny do čtyř skupin: aktivity pro začátek hodiny, populární písně, slovní zásoba a aktivity založené na hře. U každé části je popsán postup přípravy a navrhovaný postup použití v hodině. Každá aktivita je zhodnocena, je poukázáno na výhody navržené aktivity či na problémy, které se při vyučování vyskytly. U většiny aktivit navrhuji také alternativní možnosti využití, například pro pokročilejší, nebo méně pokročilé žáky nebo pro procvičení jiného tématu či jevu.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the interactive whiteboard and the possibilities of its use in EFL lessons. At the beginning, the work deals with technical aspects, types of interactive whiteboards, their availability and also compares the expansion of the tool in the Czech Republic and abroad. The following parts deal partly with the programme SMART Notebook that enables the user to fully use the potential of the interactive whiteboard, partly with special interactive textbooks and also with didactic principles of work with the interactive whiteboard. I also specify certain negative aspects that may occur in connection with interactive whiteboards. The practical part describes activities for English language teaching that I have recently used with my pupils. These activities are divided into four parts: starters, popular songs, vocabulary and game-like activities. The process of their designing and suggested procedure in the lesson is described in each part. Every activity is evaluated and both advantages and disadvantages are mentioned. Most activities also include possible alternatives, for example for more or less advanced learners or for practising of different topic or phenomenon.
