Some aspects of post-war migration from Greece to the countries of the Eastern Bloc

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na to, kam směřovali Řekové, kteří se po občanské válce v letech 1946-1949 ocitli v Československu, Maďarsku, Polsku a Rumunsku. První část bakalářské práce se zabývá přechodem z druhé světové války do občanské války v Řecku. Druhá část popisuje příchody řeckých politických emigrantů, jejich následnou integraci apozdější repatriaci do Řecka. Další část je věnovaná jednotlivým státům a jejich statistickým údajům. Závěrečnou část práce tvoří statistické údaje ztehdejší doby a vzpomínky zaměřené na minulost řeckých imigrantů. Součástí práce je také rozhovor s přímými účastníky této emigrace.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the destination of the Greeks who found themselves in Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania after the civil war in 1946-1949. The first part of the bachelor thesis deals with the transition from the second world war to the Greek civil war. the second part describes the arrival of Greek political emigrants, their subsequent integration and later repatriation to Greece. The next section is devoted to individual countries and their statistics. The final part of the work consists of statistical data from the time and reminiscences focusing on the past of Greek immigrants. The work also includes interviews with direct participants of this emigration.
