The Crucified of Moravský Krumlov

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje Ukřižovanému z Moravského Krumlova, dřevěné soše datované zpravidla do 1. poloviny 14. století. Cílem práce je především shrnutí a přehodnocení dosavadních poznatků o tomto díle s přihlédnutím k závěrům restaurování z roku 2000. Kromě popisu díla, jeho výskytu v literatuře a provenience obsahuje práce také kapitolu srovnávající tento krucifix s dalšími sochařskými díly tohoto období. Největší důraz je v této kapitole kladený na srovnání Ukřižovaného z Moravského Krumlova s tzv. Přemyslovským křížem, vynikajícím příkladem gotického sochařství 14. století.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the Crucified of Moravský Krumlov, a wooden sculpture usually dated in the first half of the 14th century. The main purpose of this work is to gather what has been hitherto known about the sculpture, and revise the information with regard to the findings of the restoration carried out in 2000. Besides a description of the crucifix, an account of literature referring to it and a short chapter on its provenance, the thesis includes a chapter comparing the sculpture with other contemporaneous works of art. In this chapter, the main emphasis is laid on comparison with the Přemyslid Cross, an outstanding example of early fourteenth-century gothic sculpture.
