Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá úlohu britské královské rodiny během první a druhé světové války. Účelem práce je popsat propojení mezi britskou monarchií, britskou společností a dvěma světovými válkami. Práce se snaží dokázat, že britská královská rodina pomohla svému národu během nejobtížnějších časů tím, že podporovala obyvatelstvo ve válečném úsilí a dodávala mu odvahu. Práce také poukazuje na navázání blíkého vztahu mezi panovníky a britskou společností běhěm dvou světových válečných konfliktů, které lidem ukázaly, že si se svými ponovníky, kteří během válek prošli stejnou zatěžkávací zkouškou, jsou v podstatě rovni.

Abstract:

This thesis explores the role of the British Royal family during WWI and WWII. The thesis was written in order to explore the bond between the British monarchy, British society and the two world wars. The thesis also tries to prove that the British monarchy helped its nation during the most difficult times by encouraging the people in the war effort. The thesis reveals that there was a close relationship between the British Royal family and British society during both world wars. The war time experience showed to the British people that their sovereigns, who suffered the same losses and had to overcome the same difficulties as the common people are actually equal to them.
