The incidence of complications in patients with therapeutic hypothermia

Anotace:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na výskyt komplikací u pacientů při terapeutické hypotermii na Anesteziologicko – resuscitační klinice ve Fakultní nemocnici u sv. Anny v Brně. V teoretické části je charakterizována termoregulace a tělesná teplota, syndrom po srdeční zástavě a hypotermie. Dále je velká pozornost věnována terapeutické hypotermii, a to jednak historii, vlivu hypotermie na organismus, indikacím a kontraindikacím, protokolu terapeutické hypotermie a ochlazovacím metodám, ale hlavně ošetřovatelské péči o pacienta při terapeutické hypotermii, při monitoraci tělesné teploty, podpůrné terapii a komplikacím souvisejících s tímto stavem. Empirická část práce zjišťuje nejčastější příčinu srdeční zástavy a výskyt jednotlivých komplikací.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the incidence of complications in patients treated with therapeutic hypothermia at Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, St. Anna‘s University Hospital, Brno. In the theoretical part, thermoregulation and body temperature, post-cardiac arrest syndrome and hypothermia are described. Moreover, there is a substantial focus on therapeutic hypothermia, its history and influence on the organism, its indications and contraindications, therapeutic hypothermia protocol, cooling methods, nursing care for the patients during therapeutic hypothermia, and monitoring body temperature, supportive therapy and complications associated with therapeutic hypothermia. The practical part of this thesis analyses the most common cause of cardiac arrest and the incidence of particular complications.
