Nanoiron and methods for investigation of its transformations

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá metodami studia transformací nanoželeza. Studium geochemických a mineralogických transformací je klíčové pro pochopení procesů sorpce a chemické stabilizace kontaminantů v prostředí. V experimentální části byly zkoumány a posuzovány účinky nanoželeza pro účely stabilizace rizikových prvků v půdě a jejich vlivu na rostliny. Pro testování byly použity dva typy půd s vysokým obsahem kontaminantů. Prostřednictvím jednoduchých analýz byla zjištěna vyluhovatelnost kovů. U vzorků půd Litavka jsme se zaměřili na zinek. U extrakce pomocí CaCl2 i H2O se díky přítomnosti nanoželeza zmenšila jeho koncentraci. Po extrakci H2O dosahovaly hodnoty Zn až 80,74 mg/kg, v ošetřené půdě pouze 19,17 mg/kg. Arsen obsažený v půdě Smolotel byl pomocí nanoželeza také snížen. Jeho koncentrace v kontrolní půdě byla 10,23 mg/kg, zatímco v půdě s přidaným nZVI byla 1,67 mg/kg. Další analýza proběhla pomocí SEM/EDS, kde bylo stěžejní určit koncentraci rizikových prvků obsažených v kořenech rostliny a v částicích v bezprostřední blízkosti. Podle předpokladu by díky nZVI nemělo docházet k transportu do kořenů rostlin. To se ovšem potvrdit nepodařilo. Zjištěná koncentrace v kořenu rostliny byla pro As v rozmezí (0,96 - 5,20 hm.%.) a pro Zn v rozmezí (0,96 - 5,20 hm.%).

Abstract:

This work deals with the methods of study of nanoscale transformations. The study of geochemical and mineralogical transformations is key to understanding the processes of sorption and chemical stabilization of contaminants in the environment. In the experimental part, the effects of nZVI for the purpose of stabilizing the risk elements in soil and their effects on plants were investigated and evaluated. Two types of soil with a high content of contaminants were used for testing. Simple analyzes revealed the leachability of metals. We focused on zinc in Litavka soil samples. With CaCl2 and H2O extraction, the concentration of nZVI decreases. After H2O extraction, Zn values reached 80.74 mg / kg, in the treated soil only 19.17 mg / kg. The arsenic contained in the Smolotel soil was also reduced by nZVI. Its concentration in the control soil was 10.23 mg / kg, while in the soil with added nZVI was 1.67 mg / kg. Further analysis was carried out using SEM / EDS, where it was crucial to determine the concentration of the risk elements contained in plant roots and particles in the immediate vicinity. According to the assumption, nZVI should not be transported to plant roots. However, this has not been confirmed. The root concentration of the plant was found to be in the range (0.96 - 5.20 wt.%) For As and for Zn in the range (0.96 - 5.20 wt.%).
