Interkulturní komunikace: Vyjadřování jistoty v českých a britských politických proslovech

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the expressing of certainty in the speeches of British and Czech politicians. Czech politicians are represented by the former Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and the leader of Civic Democratic Party Petr Fiala. British politicians are represented by the Prime Minister Theresa May and the leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part is focused on critical discourse analysis, which served as the main method for the thesis, further on political discourse and comparison of the Czech and the British political systems. It is also concerned with the devices for expressing certainty. The second part focuses on exploring these devices in the speeches of each politician separately. The goal of the thesis is the analysis of these devices, with a focus on the differences between Czech and British politicians as well as between Czech and British Prime Ministers.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vyjadřováním jistoty v proslovech britských a českých politiků. České politiky zastupuje někdejší premiér Bohuslav Sobotka a předseda Občanské demokratické strany Petr Fiala. Britské politiky zastupuje premiérka Theresa May a předseda Labouristické strany Jeremy Corbyn. Diplomová práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části, teoretickou a analytickou. Teoretická část se zaměřuje především na kritickou analýzu diskurzu, jež posloužila jako hlavní metoda práce, dále na politický diskurz a srovnání českého a britského politického systému. Dále se také zabývá prostředky pro vyjadřování jistoty. Analytická část se poté zaměřuje na zkoumání těchto prostředků zvlášť u každého z politiků. Cílem práce je analýza těchto prostředků, se zaměřením na rozdíl v jejich užívání mezi českými a britskými politiky, stejně tak jako mezi českým a britským premiérem.
