The Maintenance of Computer Technology

Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl zkoumat stav údržby výpočetní techniky v rámci systému managementu dané organizace. Samotná údržba výpočetní techniky není významově tak bezpředmětná, jak by se na první pohled mohlo zdát a v jaké míře se v dnešní době v rámci finančních úspor podniků často snaží jejich vedení prosadit. Snížení nákladů v tomto směru nemusí vždy přinést plošně efektivnější finanční hospodárnost pro podnik. Stav systému managementu údržby, managementu kvality a managementu spolehlivosti, optimálně provázané s dalšími podnikovými procesy, mají významný dopad na efektivní řízení organizace, ovlivňující kvalitu poskytovaných služeb. Teoretická část práce se věnuje všeobecnému úvodu do této problematiky, základním definicím a metodickému základu z oblasti údržby s ohledem na odvětví výpočetní techniky. Praktická část práce popisuje základní charakteristiku organizace a zaobírá se sběrem a vyhodnocením dat o oblasti výpočetní techniky v dané organizaci za jistá časová období z hlediska četnosti a závažnosti závad těchto zařízení. Z dat je provedena analýza s ohledem na optimalizaci procesu údržby v podniku, vedoucí ke snížení nákladových položek. Důležitou rolí v této části je zajisté praktická zkušenost autora s uvedenou problematikou. Závěr práce obsahuje doporučení řešení problematiky, vedoucí ke zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti organizace.

Abstract:

The goal of this Bachelor thesis is to explore the status of the maintenance of computer technologies with regard to a management system of a specific organisation. The maintenance itself is not pointless as it might seem at the first sight when looking at the situation in many today´s companies that try to reduce their financial expenses. The reduction of costs in this way does not necessarily bring a better financial efficiency for the company. The status of the maintenance management system, the quality management and the reliability management (that are optimally linked with all company processes) has an important impact on the effective company management and influences the quality of provided services. The theoretical part of this thesis contains an introduction to these problems, basic definitions and methodical basics on the field of the maintenance. The practical part describes basic features of the company and deals with the collecting and evaluating of the data on the field of a computer technology at the mentioned company for specific periods of time regarding the frequency and seriousness of failures of computer appliances. The data are analysed in view of the optimization of processes in that company leading to reduction of costs. An important moment of this part is for sure a practical experience of the author with the given problems, leading to improving of the company competitiveness.
