Od vstupu České republiky do Evropské unie v roce 2004 došlo k nárůstu významu regio-nální politiky. Nárůst významnosti regionální politiky jako hlavního činitele regionálního rozvoje souvisí s možností čerpat finanční pomoc od Evropské unie zaměřenou na posilo-vání hospodářské, sociální a územní soudržnosti. Since the Czech Republic entered the EU in 2004 there has been a growth in significance of regional politics. This growth is linked to the option of financial assistance offered by EU which would be used to strengthen the economical, social and territorial coherence.
