Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je analyzovat vymazávání bisexuálních osob v literatuře. Bisexualita bývá přehlížena v mnoha oblastech života, včetně mainstreamových médií, akademické sféry a literatury. Práce poskytne četbu šesti knih vydaných napříč 20. a 21. stoletím z pohledu bisexuality. Poté bude následovat analýza kritických ohlasů na tyto knihy. Cílem je ukázat, že v literatuře dochází k vymazávání bisexuality a že bisexualita je vymazávána v zájmu binárního pohledu na sexualitu.

Abstract:

The main objective of this thesis is to examine bisexual erasure in literature. Bisexuality tends to be overlooked in many spheres of life, including mainstream media, academia, and literature. The thesis will offer a reading of six books published across the 20th and 21st centuries through the lens of bisexuality. This will be followed by an analysis of the critical response to the books. The goal is to demonstrate that bisexual erasure occurs in literature and that bisexuality is erased for the sake of the binary view of sexuality.
