Abstract:

Restaurování středověkých památek zničených španělskou občanskou válkou (1936–1939) představovalo silný argument pro Frankistickou ideologii. Významnou osobou spojenou s třetí zónou rekonstrukcí byl Fernando Chueca Goitia (1911–2004). Mnohé jeho zásahy však byly poměrně radikální. Je možné, že projektoval svou představu o středověku do rekonstrukcí? A jaký dopad měl soudobý režim na jeho teoretickou a restaurátorskou činnost? Cílem této práce je zvážit jeho roli jako vedoucí osobnosti španělské historiografie v ideologii Frankismu. Pokud Chuecův záměr nebyl šířit Frankistickou ideologii, je možné, že jej režim naopak využil pro své účely?

Abstract:

The restoration of medieval monuments affected by the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939) constituted a compelling argument for the Francoist ideology. Fernando Chueca Goitia (1911–2004) was an important figure associated with the Third Zone of Reconstructions. Nevertheless, numerous of his interventions were quite radical. Was he perhaps projecting his own vision of the Middle Ages onto the reconstruction praxis? And what impact did the contemporary regime exert on his theoretical and restoration work? This thesis aims to examine his role as a prominent figure of the Spanish historiography within the context of Francoism. If Chueca’s objective was not to disseminate Francoist ideology, could it be that the regime instead capitalized on his work?
