Abstract:

Práce je historickodemografickým exkurzem do vývoje populace města Krnova v období "dlouhého" 19. století, tj. v období let 1781-1910. Nejdůležitější část práce tvoří rozbor základních demografických jevů, tzn. porodnosti, sňatečnosti a úmrtnosti. Tyto jevy jsou sledovány jednak v absolutních počtech, jedna v přepočtu na 1000 obyvatel. Dále se zde rozebírá problematika vícečetných porodů, nemanželských dětí, vstup mužů a žen do manželství, jejich průměrný věk při sňatku, sňatky vdovců a vdov, nezbytnost manželství pro založení rodiny a postavení rodiny jako základního stavebního prvku tradiční společnosti. Analýza úmrtnosti vychází z rozdělení zemřelých podle pohlaví a věku. Mezi věkovými kategoriemi zemřelých je věnována největší pozornost dětem, a to i mrtvorozeným, pokud se o této skupině dětí prameny zmiňují. Významná část práce se zaobírá příčinami úmrtí, tzn. hlavně epidemiemi nakažlivých chorob. Všechny tři základní demografické jevy jsou sledovány rovněž z hlediska sezonnosti, tzn. procentuálního podílu narození, sňatků a úmrtí v jednotlivých měsících v roce. Analýza je provedena v kontextu společenských, politických a hospodářských událostí. Práce vychází z matriční evidence křtů, sňatků a pohřbů prováděné katolickou a evangelickou církví. Tato disertační práce také popisuje katolické přechodové rituály, které ovlivňoval proces modernizace a sekularizace společnosti v dlouhém 19. století. Tři klíčové katolické rituály - křest, sňatek a pohřeb - byly zkoumány z pohledu katolické církve, která v uvedeném období musela čelit dalekosáhlým modernizačním tendencím, jež zasáhly i do podoby těchto rituálů.

Abstract:

The thesis is a historical and demographical study of the population development of Krnov agglomeration in the "long" 19th century, that is the period between 1781 and 1910. The crucial part of the thesis contains the study of the essential demographical phenomena which are the birth rate, the marriage rate and the death rate. These phenomena are observed both in total numbers and they are also recounted per one thousand inhabitants. It thesis deals also with multiple births, misbegotten children, the initiation of the marriage, the average age at the time of the wedding, widowers´ and widows´ marriages, the necessity of the marriage for starting a family and the family status as the essential constituent of the traditional society. The death rate analysis is built on dividing the deaths according to the sex and age. The death rate among children is described in particular, including the stillbirths providing that the sources mention those. A significant part of the thesis examines the causes of deaths, especially the epidemics of the infective diseases. All the three demographical phenomena are also observed in relation with the seasonality which means in consideration with the percentage rate of births, marriages and deaths in individual months of the year. The annalysis is implemented in relation with social, political and economical events. The thesis is based on the baptism, marriage and funeral registers which were completed by the Catholic and Evagelic Church. This thesis for doctorate also describes the Catholic transition rites that influenced the process of modernization and secularization of the society in the "long" 19th century. Three key Catholic rites - baptism, marriage and burial - were examined from the perspective of Catholic church, which in that period had to face far-reaching modernization tendencies that influenced the form of these rituals.
