Intelligence Services and their Role in Fight with Organized Crime and Terrorism

Anotácia:

Tato diplomová práce pojednává o tom, jaká je úloha zpravodajských služeb (především zpravodajských služeb České republiky) v boji proti organizovanému zločinu a terorismu. V práci je uvedena stručná historie československého a českého zpravodajství, definice pojmu zpravodajství, výčet principů, které se ve zpravodajství uplatňují, zpravodajský cyklus a rozbor organizace, postavení, úkolů a specifických prostředků získávání informací trojice českých zpravodajských služeb. Ve druhé polovině práce se autor zabývá konkrétními úkoly zpravodajských služeb v boji proti organizovanému zločinu a terorismu, srovnává postavení českých a polských civilních zpravodajských služeb, s čímž jsou nutně spojeny také úvahy de lege ferenda. Na závěr je pojednáno o kooperaci zpravodajských služeb, jíž autor přikládá v boji proti těmto hrozbám největší význam.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis describes the main function of the intelligence services (especially the intelligence services in Czech Republic) in the fight against organized crime and terrorism. Firstly, the history of Czechoslovakian and Czech intelligence is briefly described in this thesis. The work denotes also the definition of the term intelligence, enumeration of the principles which are used in intelligence, intelligence cycle as well as status analysis, analysis of organization, tasks and specific means for obtaining information of the triplet of Czech intelligence services. In the second part the author deals with particular tasks of the intelligence services in the fight against organized crime and terrorism, compares status of Czech and Polish civilian intelligence services, with that the contemplations de lege ferenda are connected. The final chapter describes the cooperation of intelligence services, which is, in the author's opinion, the most important point in the fight against these threats.
