Abstract:

Tato práce hodnotí vliv podpory dutinových druhů pěvců vyvěšováním hnízdních budek na míru predace hmyzích defoliátorů v oblasti Obora Soutok s využitím metody plastelínových housenek. Zaměřuje se na zjištění vlivu budkové populace ptáků a různých charakteristik porostu na míru predace housenek různými skupinami živočichů. Na základě dat získaných vyhodnocením poškození 2704 housenek na 18 plochách v 6 různě starých porostech s různým počtem budek hodnotí míru poškození housenek různými skupinami živočichů v závislosti na obsazenosti budek, průběhu hnízdění a charakteristikách jednotlivých porostů. Potvrdil se především pozitivní vliv počtu mláďat ptáků na predaci housenek. Tento efekt se projevil u obou nejčastějších obyvatel budek v Oboře Soutok, tedy u sýkory koňadry (Parus major) i u lejska bělokrkého (Ficedula albicollis). Zároveň se projevila vysoká schopnost ptáků naučit se vyhýbat atrapám housenek, neboť největší poškození housenek ptáky bylo zaznamenáno na začátku pokusu a následně po vyletění nezkušených mláďat z hnízd. Dále se ukázalo, že predace housenek hmyzožravým ptactvem roste s věkem porostu a jeho rozlohou. Predace housenek dravým hmyzem byla dána především místními podmínkami na konkrétních lokalitách. Hmyz se na predaci housenek výrazněji podílel v porostech s menší rozlohou navazujících na otevřenou krajinu. Z vnitřních charakteristik porostu se predační aktivitě hmyzu negativně projevila rostoucí pokryvnost keřového patra. Nakonec práce diskutuje zjištěné výsledky a srovnává je s literaturou. Vydává také stručná doporučení pro efektivní podporu hmyzožravých druhů ptactva v lužních lesích v návaznosti na biologickou ochranu lesa proti hmyzím škůdcům.

Abstract:

This work evaluates the effect of supporting cavity songbird species by hanging nest boxes on the predation rate of insect defoliators in the area of Obora Soutok using the dummy caterpillar method. It focuses on determining the influence of the nesting population of birds and different vegetation characteristics on the rate of predation of caterpillars by different groups of animals. Based on the data obtained by evaluating the damage of 2704 caterpillars on 18 areas in 6 stands of different ages with different numbers of nests, they evaluate the degree of damage to caterpillars by different groups of animals depending on the occupancy of nests, the course of nesting and the characteristics of individual stands. Above all, the positive effect of the number of young birds on the predation of caterpillars was confirmed. This effect was manifested in the two most frequent inhabitants of the huts in the area of Obora Soutok, that's the great tit (Parus major) and the white-throated flycatcher (Ficedula albicollis). At the same time, the high ability of the birds to learn to avoid the caterpillar dummies was demonstrated, as the greatest damage to the caterpillars by the birds was recorded at the beginning of the experiment and subsequently after the fledglings leaved the nests. Furthermore, it was shown that the predation of caterpillars by insectivorous birds increases with the age and the area of the stand. Predation of caterpillars by predatory insects was primarily determined by local conditions at specific locations. Insects participated more significantly in the predation of caterpillars in stands with a smaller area adjacent to the open landscape. From the internal characteristics of the stand, the predation activity of insects was negatively affected by the growing cover of the shrub layer. Finally, the work discusses the results and compares them with the literature. It also issues brief recommendations for the effective support of insectivorous bird species in riparian forests, following the biological protection of the forest against insect pests.
