Identity Changes of Teenagers as a Result of Using Social Networks

Abstract:

Tato práce poukazuje na komplikované vnímání dnešní reality dospívající mládeží v souvislosti s každodenním užíváním sociálních sítí. Současně upozorňuje na nebezpečí, která ve virtuálním světě internetu ovlivňují jejich vnitřní já a utváření vlastní identity. V teoretické části je popsán pojem identita, on-line identita a to, jak významnou roli hraje v životě dospívajících. Je zde vymezeno a vysvětleno období dospívání z hlediska tělesné-ho, sociálního i kognitivního vývoje. Poslední část je věnována internetu. Jak fungují různé sociální sítě, jejich oblíbenost nebo problematika ochrany soukromí. Také se zaměřuji na nebezpečí a rizika, která s jejich užívání souvisí a primárně ohrožují právě dospívající mládež. Praktická část se zaměřuje na průzkum užívání sociálních sítích u adolescentů, pro které byl zvolen kvantitativní výzkum. K získání dat byla použita metoda dotazníkového šetření. Výsledkem této části práce je vyhodnocení vztahu dospívající mládeže k sociálním sítím a jejich vlivu na vnímání vlastní identity.

Abstract:

The Thesis deals with complicated perception of today's reality by teenagers in relation with use of social networks on daily basis. Also, it draws attention to the dangers of Inter-net affecting their inner self and forming their own identity. The theoretical part describes and defines the terms of identity and on-line identity and their important role in teenagers' lives. The adolescence period is defined and explained as maturing from the physical, social and cognitive point of view. The las section focuses on the Internet, how various social networks function, their popularity and the issue of privacy protection as well as the risks and dangers connected with their use by teenagers. The practical part focuses on survey of social network usage by adolescents. The selected method is a quantitative research. Necessary data were acquired through the interview sur-vey. The result of this Thesis part is evaluation of adolescents' relation to social networks and their influence on perception of their own identity.
