Karel Svoboda´s Musicals

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Muzikály Karla Svobody si klade za cíl zmapovat muzikálovou tvorbu tohoto českého hudebního skladatele. V práci jsou podrobně rozebrána jednotlivá díla (Dracula, Monte Cristo, Noc na Karlštejně, Golem), přičemž autorka kombinuje dramaturgickou analýzu s historicko-teoretickým přístupem. Všechny Svobodovy muzikály jsou představeny jako umělecká díla tvořená několika složkami, pozornost je věnována především hudbě a libretům. Důležitou součástí práce je rovněž inscenační tradice jednotlivých muzikálů a jejich kritické přijetí. V závěru práce jsou Svobodovy muzikály na základě hudby, libret a inscenací srovnány, autorka mezi nimi hledá styčné body a postihuje hlavní rozdíly.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis called Musicals of Karel Svoboda makes it its goal to describe musical production of the czech composer. In the thesis particular works (Dracula, Monte Cristo, Noc na Karlštejně, Golem) are analysed in detail, the author combines dramaturgical analysis with historical-theoretical approach. All of Svoboda’s musicals are introduced as works of art composed of severel components, the main attention is focused on the music and the librettos. The traditon of production of particular musicals and its critical reception make important part of the thesis. In the conclusion Svoboda’s musicals are compared on the basis of music, librettos and productions, the author looks for the contact points and covers main differences.
