Competencies of leaders influencing the potential of human resources

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá působení vedoucích pracovníků na rozvoj potenciálu zaměstnanců v procesu Leadershipu. Cílem je zodpovědět hlavní výzkumnou otázku: „Jak vlastnosti a dovednosti lídrů zvyšují a snižují rozvoj potenciálu zaměstnanců?“ V teoretické části práce je představen vývoj vnímání stylu vedení a mechanismy jednání vůdce, které působí na aktivitu, výkony i osobní rozvoj formálních podřízených. Případová studie byla provedena metodou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s osmi respondenty; vedoucím pracovníkem a jeho zaměstnanci. Studie mapuje představy zaměstnanců i vedoucího pracovníka o rolích v organizaci, vnímání vlastností lídra i možnosti seberealizace pracovníků. Pro podrobný vhled do konkrétního vztahu vedoucího a zaměstnanců výzkum odhaluje vnímání vlastností a dovedností vybraného lídra pracovním kolektivem i z perspektivy vedoucího pracovníka. Práce popisuje vztah mezi vlastnostmi vedoucího a rozvojem zaměstnanců perspektivou obou zúčastněných stran pomocí pochopení jejich vzájemné komunikace, motivačních stimulů i uplatnění dovedností pracovníků.

Abstract:

The thesis reviews the influence of the team leader's personality within the Leadership process on the development of employees' skills and capabilities. The ultimate goal is to answer the following research question: ‘How could the leader's qualities and knowledge increase or reduce the development of employees' skills and their working potential?‘ The theoretical part outlines the process of the perception of the leaders behaviour affecting the work performance and personal development of his formal subordinates. The case study then has been based on the semi-structured interview with eight respondents: one leader and his team members. The study discloses the ideas of each participant about their roles within the organization, the perception of leader's personality traits and chances for the professional development of each employee. In order to understand well particular relationships between the senior and his subordinates the research focuses at how the competencies of the former are perceived by the latter and also vice versa from the leader's perspective. The study then focuses on the interactions and dependencies between the competencies of the leader and professional development of the team members through the effect of the level of mutual communication, motivational incentives and the full use of the employees' skills.
