The influence of dynamic sitting on back pain and pelvic pain in pregnancy

Abstract:

V dnešní populaci trápí 50 % žen bolesti v těhotenství. Nejčastěji se jedná o bolesti dolní části zad označované jako low back pain a to v 49-66 % ve třetím trimestru těhotenství. Ne každá těhotná žena má možnost odborně řešit tyto bolesti pomocí fyzioterapeutů nebo porodních asistentek. Proto jsme se rozhodli zjistit, zda má dynamický sed vliv na bolestivost zad a pánve v těhotenství, a zda může ovlivnit kvalitu života těhotné ženy. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 22 těhotných žen, které byly náhodně rozděleny do dvou stejně velkých skupin. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 11 probandek s průměrným věkem 32,55 ? 5,5 let, výškou 170,45 ? 4,91 cm a počáteční hodnotou BMI 24,81 ? 3,26. Kontrolní skupinu tvořilo také 11 probandek s průměrným věkem 31,64 ? 5,12, výškou 169,18 ? 8,40 cm a počáteční hodnotou BMI 24,27 ? 2,40. Těhotné ženy byly osloveny skrze IVF Clinic a.s. a Gynartis. s.r.o. Pro získání dat jsme využili standardizované dotazníky: dotazník McGillovy univerzity, Pregnancy Monility Index a vlastní anketní šetření. Výsledek: Došlo ke statisticky významné změně (p=0,03) snížení bolestivosti zad a pánve u probandek výzkumného souboru v části McG dotazníku bolesti a ke statisticky významné změně (p=0,04) zhoršení bolestivosti zad a pánve ve stejné oblasti dotazníku u kontrolní skupiny. Při vyhodnocení PMI došlo ke statisticky významné změně zhoršení běžných denních aktivit u probandek kontrolní skupiny, zatímco u výzkumné skupiny zhoršení běžných denních aktivit nebylo statisticky významné.

Abstract:

In today's population there are 50 % of women that suffer from pain when they're pregnant. The most common is lower back pain in 49-66 % in the third trimester of pregnancy. Not every woman has a possibility to visit a physiotherapy or a midwife. That's the reason, why we want to know, if dynamic sitting has an impact on pain in pregnancy, and if dynamic sitting can affect quality of life in pregnancy. The research involved 22 pregnant women, who were randomly divided into a research group and a control group. The research group consisted of 11 probands with the average age of 32,55 ? 5,5, the average height 170,45 ? 4,91 cm and the average beginning BMI value of 24,81 ? 3,26. Control group consisted of 11 probands with the average age of 31,64 ? 5,12, the average height 169,18 ? 8,40 cm and the average beginning BMI value of 24,27 ? 2,40. Pregnant women were addressed by IVF Clinic a.s. and Gynartis s.r.o. We used The McGill Pain Questionnaire, the Pregnancy Mobility Index and our own survey to get data. Result: There was a statistically significant change (p = 0,03) in the reduction of back and pelvic pain in the subjects of the research group in the McG part of the pain questionnaire. There was a statistically significant change (p = 0,04) in worsening back and pelvic pain in the same area of the questionnaire in the control group. There was a statistically significant change in the deterioration of normal daily activities in control group subjects during the evaluation, while in the research group the activity of daily living stayed without statistically significant change.
