The Council of the European Union and its Presidency

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je věnována tématu Rady Evropské unie, jejího předsednictví a problémy spojené s Lisabonskou smlouvou. Hlavním cílem mé diplomové práce bylo zjistit, jak funguje Rada Evropské unie a její předsednictví. V práci je obsaženo jak pracují jednotlivé instituce Evropské unie, zejména Rada evropské unie, jak takové instituce vznikaly, jak jsou vedeny, co je jejich prioritou, jak spolu navzájem spolupracují a čím se zabývají. V mé diplomové práci se také zabývám charakteristikou předsednictví v Radě Evropské unie a rozboru českého předsednictví. V části o českém předsednictví jsou stanoveny jeho priority a zhodnoceny jeho výsledky a mediální obraz. V neposlední řadě se má diplomová práce zabývá Lisabonskou smlouvou, její ratifikací a důsledky jejího dopadu. Hypotézy mé diplomové práce jsou stanoveny v úvodu. V závěru téhle práce jsou zhodnoceny všechny získané poznatky.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of the Council of the European Union, its presidency and the issues of the Lisbon Treaty. The main aim of my thesis was to find out how the Council of the European Union and its presidency works. The contents of the thesis is the working of single institutions of the European Union, especially the Council of the European Union, how these institutions came into existence, their management, their priorities, how they cooperate and what is their scope. In my diploma thesis I also deal with the characterirstics of presidency in the Council of the European Union and with the analysis of the Czech presidency. In the part which deals with the Czech presidency I determined its priorities and evaluated its outcomes and media image. Last but not least my thesis deals with the Lisbon Treaty, its ratification and the results of its impact. The hypotheses are determined in the introduction. In the conclusion I evaluate all the gained findings.
