Preferences and Requierements of City Dwellers Towards Design of Urban Nature

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou vnímání a preference různých typů městské zeleně obyvateli měst. V úvodní části je definován pojem městská zeleň a její členění. Následuje stručný přehled historie městské zeleně a popis jednotlivých funkcí, které zeleň ve městech zastává. Třetí kapitola nabízí přehled teoretických poznatků z oblasti výzkumu vnímání a preferencí městské zeleně. Městská zeleň je v této práci nahlížena i z pohledu územního systému ekologické stability. Čtvrtá kapitola se proto věnuje ÚSES, jeho postavení v městě Brně a popisu lokality Pisárecké kotliny, kde výzkum probíhal. Druhá část práce shrnuje výsledky a metody empirického šetření, které proběhlo pomocí rozhovorů s obyvateli města v Pisárecké kotlině. Práce reflektuje vnímání a preference současného vzhledu zeleně v této lokalitě a požadavky obyvatel na ideální vzhled této zeleně. V diskuzi se autorka zamýšlí nad možnými interpretacemi preferencí obyvatel pro různé typy městské zeleně a nad zvolenými metodami výzkumu.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with questions about perception and preference of different types towards the urban nature by city dwellers. The thesis preliminary defines concept of urban nature and its structure, followed by brief history of urban nature and description of single functions of urban nature. The third chapter provides a review of academic knowledge based on reasearch of perception and preference towards urban nature. The urban nature is presented here in regard with the Territorial System of Ecological Stability (TSES). That’s why the next chapter deals with TSES, its position in the city of Brno and description of Pisárky fold, where the research was held. The second part summarizes findings of empirical research, which had been done by interviews with city dwellers in Pisárky fold. This thesis reflects the perception and preference towards recent appearance of urban nature in that area and requieremnts which city dwellers claim to ideal appearance of urban nature. The author pauses on different types of interpretation of preference for certains type of urban nature and also contemplates used methods.
