Australian culture and its effect on business negotiations

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je vytvořit stručného průvodce, který má za úkol popsat kulturní charakter Austrálie, ekonomické podmínky a vývoj a kulturu obchodního prostředí. Tento průvodce je určen pro všechny ty, kteří chtějí vytvořit obchodní vazby s australskými partnery nebo se chtějí obecně seznámit s australskou kulturou jako takovou. Práce je rozdělená do čtyř částí. První část se zabývá teoretickým rámcem, který zahrnuje teorii kultur a interkulturní komunikace. Druhá část se zabývá samotným kulturním charakterem Austrálie. Je důležité si uvědomit, že kultura země je velice komplexní a působí na ní mnoho faktorů. Abychom pochopili proč je kultura taková jaká je, musíme jí chápat v širších souvislostech. Proto je v této části rozsáhle popsána historie Austrálie, imigrační politika, demografické složení společnosti atd. Třetí část práce popisuje ekonomickou situaci země. Jsou zde uvedeny základní makroekonomické informace a informace o daňovém a celním systému, které mohou zajímat především firmy, které chtějí rozšířit svou činnost na australský trh. Poslední část této práce je věnovaná kultuře obchodnímu prostředí. Tato část by měla ukázat, jak australská kultura ovlivňuje australské obchodní prostředí.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to outline the basic theoretical frameworks and concepts of cultures and cross cultural communication and interaction followed by a description of the national culture of Australie and its effect on the Australian business environment. When finished the thesis can be used as a guide for businesses trying to expand their activities to Australia or for individuals, who are interested in the Australian culture itself. Readers of this paper will be intruduced to the latest concepts to cross cultural management and communication, such us Intercultural Effectivness and Cultural Intelligence. Focus is also devouted to the issue business negotiations in culturaly diverse environments. The paper tries to provide the reader with a complex understanding of the australian culture. This is done through the characterizing of aspects that have the biggest influence on a countries culture, such as history, demografics, climate , education etc. Another part Another part of the thesis is a quick introduction to the macroeconomic conditions of Australia. It should give the reader a general idea about what the structure of the australian economy is like, how the taxation system works and what some investment possibilities on the australian continent are.
