Diagnostics of the nutritional status of cereal crops using spectral measurements

Abstract:

Zpřístupněním technologií dálkového průzkumu Země je možné vyhodnotit stav porostů za pomoci snímkování družic, bezpilotních letounů traktorových a ručních senzorů. Nepřímou diagnostickou metodou byly zvoleny dva měřící přístroje využívající rozdílný princip spektrálních měření – měření chlorofylmetrem Yara N-Tester na principu transmitace blízce-infračerveného záření (NIR) listy a měření plošné odrazivosti porostu v červené (R) a blízce-infračervené (NIR) části spektra a jejich algebrarická kombinace formou vegetačního indexu NDVI přístrojem Trimble Greenseeker Handheld. Výsledky měření byly prokázány rozdílnosti mezi jednotlivými druhy obilovin. Oběma senzory bylo prokázáno, že je možné diagnostikovat výživný stav porostů obilovin v návaznosti na znalostech a zkušenostech agronomů při využívání spektrálních měřeních a tím zajistit např. snižování množství hnojiv potřebných k dosažení vysokého výnosu a tím i zlepšení ekonomiky podniku, či podílet se na zmírňování změn klimatu.

Abstract:

By making remote sensing technologies available, it is possible to evaluate the condition of the stands with the help of satellite imaging, unmanned aerial vehicles, tractors and hand-held sensors. As an indirect diagnostic method, two measuring devices using a different principle of spectral measurements were chosen – measurement with a Yara N-Tester chlorophyll meter based on the principle of transmission of near-infrared radiation (NIR) by leaves and measurement of surface reflectance of the vegetation in the red (R) and near-infrared (NIR) part of the spectrum and their algebraic combination in the form of the NDVI vegetation index using the Trimble Greenseeker Handheld device. The results of the measurements showed differences between individual types of cereals. With both sensors, it has been proven that it is possible to diagnose the nutritional status of cereal crops based on the knowledge and experience of agronomists when using spectral measurements and thereby ensure, for example, a reduction in the amount of fertilizers needed to achieve a high yield and thereby improve the economy of the company, or participate in mitigating changes climate.
