The self-concept of children with specific learning disabilities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na sebepojetí dětí se specifickými poruchami učení. V teoretické části je uvedena charakteristika specifických poruch učení, zahrnující jejich etiologii, diagnostiku a symptomatologii jednotlivých poruch učení. Následuje kapitola zabývající se sebepojetím a jeho vymezení, obsahu, aspektům a jeho vývoji v období školního věku a rané adolescence. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je věnována studiím v oblasti této problematiky. Výzkumná část zahrnuje cíl práce, kterým je zjistit, jak děti se specifickými poruchami učení vnímají samy sebe. Dále jsou uvedeny výzkumné hypotézy a celkový metodologický rámec výzkumu. Použitou výzkumnou metodou byl dotazník sebepojetí dětí a adolescentů Piers-Harris 2 (PHCSCS-2). Klíčovou částí je samotné zpracování dat a výsledky výzkumu v návaznosti na výzkumné otázky a stanovené hypotézy, které byly ověřeny za využití deskriptivní statistiky, jednovýběrového a dvouvýběrového t-testu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the self-concept of children with specific learning disabilities. In theoretical part is shown characteristic of specific learning disabilities including their etiology, diagnostics and symptomatology of particular learning disabilities. The following chapter is devoted to self-concept and its definition, content, aspects and its development during school age and early adolescence. The last chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to studies in this area. The research part includes the aim of the work which is to find out how children with specific learning disabilities perceive themselves. Further there are research hypotheses and overall methodological framework of research. The method used in this research was a Piers-Harris Children Self-concept Scale 2 (PHCSCS-2) questionary. The key part is data processing and results of research in relation to research questions and established hypotheses which were verified using descriptive statistics, one-sample and two-sample t-test.
