The green environmental development in sports and recreational areas of the city of Pilsen

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem zeleně na sportovně-rekreačních areálech v Plzni a poskytuje komplexní přehled o změnách v období posledních až více než 60 let. V práci jsou analyzovány faktory ovlivňující vývoj zeleně na sportovně-rekreačních areálech, jako jsou urbanizace, změny klimatu, management a péče o zeleň a vlivy lidské aktivity. Metodika výzkumu zahrnuje analýzu historických ortofoto a terénní průzkum. Výsledky ukazují, že v posledních více než šedesáti letech došlo k výraznému rozvoji sportovně-rekreačních areálů v Plzni a zeleně na těchto místech se stala důležitým faktorem kvality života místních obyvatel. Přestože se kvalita zeleně v některých oblastech zlepšila, stále jsou zde výzvy v oblasti managementu a péče o zeleň, zejména v souvislosti se změnami klimatu a intenzivním využíváním těchto oblastí. Výsledky této práce mohou sloužit jako podklad pro plánování a rozvoj sportovně-rekreačních oblastí v Plzni a také pro podobné studie v jiných městech. Výzkum přináší nové poznatky o vztahu mezi zelení a kvalitou života v městském prostředí a přispívá k udržitelnému rozvoji sportovně-rekreačních oblastí v Plzni.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the development of green spaces in sports and recreational areas in the city of Pilsen, providing a comprehensive overview of the changes that have occurred over the past 60 years or more. The thesis analyzes factors that influence the development of green spaces in sports and recreational areas, such as urbanization, climate change, management and care of green spaces, and human activity. The research methodology includes an analysis of historical orthophotos and field surveys. The results show that over the past 60 years, there has been significant development of sports and recreational areas in Pilsen, and green spaces in these areas have become an important factor in the quality of life for local residents. Although the quality of green spaces has improved in some areas, there are still challenges in the management and care of green spaces, particularly in light of climate change and the intensive use of these areas. The results of this thesis can serve as a basis for planning and developing sports and recreational areas in Pilsen and for similar studies in other cities. The research provides new insights into the relationship between green spaces and quality of life in urban environments and contributes to the sustainable development of sports and recreational areas in Pilsen.
