Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá mezinárodními vztahy v kontextu prusko-rakouské války v roce 1866. Jednalo se o ozbrojený konflikt, na jehož základě bylo Prusko schopno změnit zásadním způsobem mocenskou rovnováhu na evropském kontinentu ve svůj prospěch. Vítězstvím v bitvě u Hradce Králové tak mohlo realizovat další plánované kroky na své cestě vedoucí ke sjednocení Německa. Válka se tak stala důležitým milníkem pro další dějinné události světového významu, včetně obou světových válek. V konečném důsledku tedy ovlivňuje podobu geopolitiky do dnešní doby. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jakým způsobem se změnila mezinárodní situace v důsledku prusko-rakouské války, a tedy analyzovat vývoj mocenské konstelace v Evropě před a po tomto střetnutí. Hlavní zřetel byl brán na ústřední aktéry, tedy Prusko a Rakousko. Zpracovány jsou rovněž aktivity dalších velmocí – Francie, Ruska a Velké Británie. V teoretické části práce byly popsány zásadní okolnosti, které vedly k rozpoutání války, vývoj mocenské konstelace v Evropě a postoje jednotlivých aktérů mezinárodních vztahů před konfliktem a po něm. Byla zde charakterizována také podoba vídeňského systému mezinárodního uspořádání, který následkem okolností, způsobených především nacionalismem, začal postupně degradovat. Výzkum se zaměřil zejména na chování velmocí v mezinárodním prostředí, přičemž samotný popis válečných operací zaujímá pouze okrajovou část. Na základě rozboru textové části byla zpracována výzkumná část, která se zabývala zodpovězením výzkumné otázky za pomoci komparace mezinárodní situace před a po válce na úrovni velmocí a rovněž porovnáním změn celého systému mezinárodních vztahů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with international relations in the context of the Austro-Prussian War in 1866. This was an armed conflict, on the basis of which Prussia was able to fundamentally change the balance of power on the European continent in its favour. With the victory at the Battle of Hradec Králové, Prussia was able to take the next planned steps on its road to German unification. The war thus became an important milestone for other historical events of global significance, including both world wars. Ultimately, therefore, it influences the shape of geopolitics to this day. The aim of this thesis was to find out how the international situation changed as a result of the Austro-Prussian War and thus to analyse the development of the power constellation in Europe before and after this conflict. The focus was on the central actors, Prussia and Austria. The activities of the other great powers - France, Russia, and Great Britain - are also discussed. In the theoretical part of the work, the fundamental circumstances that led to the outbreak of the war, the development of the power constellation in Europe and the attitudes of the various actors in international relations before and after the conflict were described. It also characterized the form of the Vienna system of international organization, which gradually began to degrade as a result of circumstances caused mainly by nationalism. The research has focused mainly on the behaviour of great powers in the international environment, with the description of warfare itself occupying only a peripheral part. Based on the analysis of the textual part, the research part was developed to answer the research question by comparing the international situation before and after the war at the level of the superpowers as well as comparing the changes in the whole system of international relations.
