Impacts of company growth on information flows with unchanged organizational structure

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice informačních toků v organizaci v souvislosti s organizační strukturou v případě růstu organizace. Růst firmy klade větší nároky na koordinaci a komunikaci mezi zaměstnanci. Cílem práce je objasnit vliv organizační struktury na organizaci prostřednictvím výzkumu vnitřní komunikace. Pro výzkum byl zvolen kvalitativní přístup s využitím případové studie. Sběr dat byl podpořen modifikovaný „COMM SAT-OUTCOMES“ modelem komunikace jehož výstupy byly zpracovány za pomoci obsahové analýzy dat. Výsledkem výzkumu je přehled bariér ve vnitřní komunikaci zachycený modelem příčinností bariér, který definuje tři typy selhání, vyvolávající bariéry v komunikaci. Teoretickým přínosem je pak navazující teoretický model koordinační adaptace organizační struktury při růstu organizace, získaný porovnáním výsledků mezi třemi úrovněmi organizační struktury vysvětlující, proč se organizace setkávají s neúčinnou koordinací, která způsobuje organizační selhání

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of information flows in the organization in connection with the organizational structure in the case of the growth of the organization. The company's growth demands greater coordination and communication among employees. The aim of this work is to clarify the influence of organizational structure on organization through research of internal communication. A qualitative approach using a case study was chosen for the research. Data collection was supported by a modified "COMM SAT-OUTCOMES" model of communication whose outputs were processed using content data analysis. The result of the research is an overview of barriers in internal communication captured by the causality model of barriers, which defines three types of failures, causing barriers to communication. The theoretical contribution is a follow-up theoretical model of coordination adaptation of the organizational structure in the growth of the organization, obtained by comparing the results between the three levels of organizational structure explaining why organizations encounter ineffective coordination that causes organizational failure
