Comparison of the Franco´s and Salazar´s Non-democratic Regime

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá komparací charakteristických rysů nedemokratických režimů Francisca Franca ve Španělsku a Antónia de Oliveiry Salazara v Portugalsku. Věnuje se především období od třicátých let do poloviny sedmdesátých let minulého století. Teoretickým základem a rámcem je teorie nedemokratických režimů. Autorka porovnává například příčiny a okolnosti vzniku obou diktatur, postavení vůdců, hlavní opory jejich vlády, vztah k opozici, politickým stranám, míru mobilizace, mentalitu, legitimitu režimů atd. z hlediska definic autoritarismu a totalitarismu. Také se zaměřuje na vývoj obou systémů. Na základě těchto kritérií pak vymezuje shodné a rozdílné prvky frankismu a salazarismu a řadí je k odpovídajícímu typu nedemokratického režimu.

Abstract:

The Bachelor Thesis is concerned with the comparison of characteristic signs of the Francisco Franco´s and António de Oliveira Salazar´s non-democratic regimes in Spain and Portugal. It attends to the period from the thirties to the mid-seventies of the last century. The theory of non-democratic regimes is theoretical base and framework of the Bachelor Thesis. Authoress compares for example causes and circumstances of the two dictatorships, positions of the two leaders, general pillars of their governments, their relations to the opposition and political parties, the degree of mobilization, the legitimacy of the regimes etc. in the context of the authoritarianism and the totalitarianism. She attends to the development of these systems too. On the grounds of these criteria she determines consistent and different signs of the Francoism and Salazarism and then she ranges these regimes to the accordant type of non-democratic regime.
