The influence of a tutor on the running of an elearning course.

Abstract:

Cílem disertační práce je přispět k prohloubení teorie výuky a teorie vyučování v oblasti distančního e-learningového vzdělávání. V intencích mikrodidaktické teorie se práce věnuje problematice e-learningového distančního vzdělávání realizovaného na platformě systémů pro řízení výuky (LMS). Práce analyzuje činnost tutora e-learningového kurzu, nástroje, které má tutor v prostředí dnešních sofistikovaných systémů pro řízení výuky k dispozici, jeho úkoly během jednotlivých etap e-learningového kurzu a způsoby interakce se studujícími. Z dat získaných kvantitativní analýzou výstupů rozsáhlého e-learningového kurzu bylo nalezeno několik závislostí, které vyjadřují relaci mezi tutorovými aktivitami v rámci e-learningového studia a úspěšností studentů při jeho ukončování. Práce mimo jiné také předkládá fakta, která vyjadřují závislost parametrů studijní trajektorie studentů e-learningového kurzu na motivačních aktivitách tutora. Výsledky předloženého výzkumu potvrzují skutečnost, že aktivní a svědomitá práce odborně zdatného tutora dokáže eliminovat nevýhody e-learningového distančního vzdělávání ve srovnání s prezenční výukou. Závěry práce potvrzují výrazný vliv tutora na úspěšnost studentů při e-learningovém studiu.

Abstract:

The aim of the dissertation thesis is to contribute to the theory of education and theory of educating through distance e-learning and deepen them. Within micro-didactic theory, the thesis deals with the topic of e-learning education implemented through learning management systems (LMS). It analyses the tutor´s activity within the e-learning course, the tools he has use of in the environment of the current sophisticated management systems, his task during individual e-learning course stages and ways of interaction with the students. Several connections between the tutor´s activities within the e-learning course and the students´ success at completing the course were obtained from extensive e-learning course output through quantitative analysis. Among other information, the thesis presents data which express the connection of the parameters of study trajectory of the e-learning course students to the tutor´s motivation activities. The results of the presented research confirm the fact that active and conscientious work of a qualified tutor can eliminate the disadvantages of e-learning distance education in comparison with traditional education. The conclusion of the thesis confirms the considerable influence of the tutor on the students´ success during e-learning study.
