Attitudes of teachers towards obese children in kindergartens

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá postoje pedagogů vůči dětem s obezitou v kontextu mateřských škol. Práce se zaměřuje na diferenciaci postojů pedagogů k těmto dětem a zkoumá faktory ovlivňující jejich postoje. Teoretická část práce analyzuje koncepty týkající se obezity u dětí, včetně sociálních, psychologických a zdravotních aspektů, a také přístupy k pedagogické práci s dětmi s obezitou. V praktické části byly sbírána a analyzována data pomocí dotazníkového šetření, které zjišťovalo postoje pedagogů vůči dětem s obezitou. Výsledky naznačují různorodost postojů pedagogů a ukazují na potřebu individuálního přístupu k těmto dětem. Závěr práce zdůrazňuje důležitost multidisciplinárního a respektujícího přístupu ke každému dítěti, a poukazuje na roli rodiny, školy a dalších institucí v prevenci a léčbě obezity u dětí. Výsledky této práce mají potenciál přispět k lepšímu porozumění problematiky obezity u dětí a k podpoře inkluzivního prostředí ve školách.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis examines educators' attitudes towards children with obesity in the context of preschools. The study focuses on differentiating educators' attitudes towards these children and explores factors influencing their attitudes. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes concepts related to childhood obesity, including social, psychological, and health aspects, as well as approaches to pedagogical work with children with obesity. In the practical part, data were collected and analyzed using a questionnaire survey to determine educators' attitudes towards children with obesity. The results indicate a diversity of educators' attitudes and underscore the need for an individualized approach to these children. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary and respectful approach to each child and highlights the role of family, school, and other institutions in the prevention and treatment of childhood obesity. The findings of this study have the potential to contribute to a better understanding of childhood obesity issues and to support an inclusive environment in schools.
