Abstract:

NÉMETHOVÁ, Zuzana. The Profession of Manager in the Hotel Industry. [Bachelor Dissertation]. The Institute of Hospitality Management in Prague. Prague 2017. Total number of pages 61. This submitted bachelor dissertation„The Profession of Manager in the Hotel Industry” is in the theoretical part focusing on characteristics of an ideal manager. With the help of literature this segment defines the term ‘hotel manager’, his competencies, attributes and the basic manager’s duties. This is linked to a manager’s knowledge, concentrating on key parts of a manager’s job and the way he directs and manages employees. The following analytical part is targeted at the 5 - star Hotel Arcadia and is split into two parts. First half is oriented on an employee’s survey, because employees are the key part of a manager’s job. The aim was to identify how other workers see managers and the job they are doing. The second half is focusing on the knowledge taken from interviews with managers working at Hotel Arcadia. In the final part, there are some author’s brief personal findings that are written as suggestions and recommendations that could help managers perform better.

NÉMETHOVÁ, Zuzana. Profesia manažéra v hotelierstve. [Bakalárska práca]. Vysoká škola hotelová. Praha: 2017. Celkový počet strán 61. Predložená bakalárska práca na tému „Profesia manažéra v hotelierstve“ sa v teoretickej časti zameriava na charakteristiku ideálneho manažéra. Pomocou odborných literatúr je v tejto časti vytýčený pojem hotelový manažér, jeho kompetencie, či vlastnosti a taktiež základné manažérske funkcie. S tým sú spojené aj následné poznatky, zaoberajúce sa kľúčovými oblasťami práce manažéra a jeho štýlom vedenia zamestnancov. Nadväzujúca analytická časť, skúmaná v hoteli Arcadia 5***** je pomyselne rozdelená na dva celky. Prvý celok je orientovaný, pomocou dotazníkového šetrenia na zamestnancov, ktorí sú jednou z kľúčových oblastí manažéra. Cieľom bolo zistiť ako je manažér a jeho práca vnímaná z inej perspektívy ako len jeho a to z pohľadu priamych podriadených. V druhej časti sú kumulované poznatky z riadených rozhovorov s manažérmi hotela. V poslednej, návrhovej časti sú stručne uvedené osobné poznatky autorky, vpísané vo forme návrhov a ideí, ktoré by mohli manažérom pomôcť v lepšom výkone ich náročnej práce.
