Strategic analysis of a specific company

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je odpovědět na výzkumnou otázku, zda je plánovaná expanze firmy na Moravu vhodná s ohledem na současnou situaci. Práce je rozdělena na dvě hlavní části – teoretickou část a praktickou část. Teoretická část práce popisuje vybrané metody strategické analýzy za použití odborné literatury, které jsou následně v rámci praktické části aplikovány na firmu Linsan s.r.o. Pro analýzu makrookolí firmy je v práci použita PESTLE analýza, pro analýzu mikrookolí poté základní charakteristika odvětví, analýza konkurence a Porterova analýza pěti sil. Pro interní analýzu podniku je v práci využita finanční analýza, VRIO analýza a ke shrnutí výsledků analýz je použita SWOT analýza. Na závěr bylo navrženo doporučení pro firmu a výsledky práce byly konzultovány s vedením společnosti.

Abstract:

The main aim of this work is to answer the research question of wether the planned expansion of the company into the Moravian area is appropriate given the current situation. The thesis is divided into two main parts – the theoretical part and the practical part. Teoretical part of the thesis describes selected methods of strategic analysis using the scientific literature, which are then applied in the practical part to the company Linsan Ltd. PESTLE analysis is applied in the work for the analysis of the company’s macro-environment. The basic characteristics of the industry, competition analysis and Porter’s five forces model are used for micro-environment analysis. For the internal analysis of the company, the thesis applies financial analysis, VRIO analysis and SWOT analysis which is used to summarize the results of the analysis. The end of the work contains recommendation for the company and the results of the work were consulted with the company’s management.
