Change in the Sectoral Structure in the Moravian-Silesian Region and its Impact on Selected Macroeconomic Indicators

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá proměnou odvětvové struktury v Moravskoslezském kraji, a pomocí vybraných makroekonomických ukazatelů analyzuje a vyhodnocuje dopad této změny na regionální ekonomiku. V práci je popsána historie a vývoj zdejšího průmyslu v čase, se zaměřením na období od roku 2000 do současnosti. Ve zmíněném období je sledována proměna struktury hospodářství, a to zejména v souvislosti se snahou regionálních aktérů a institucí o zvládnutí jednotlivých fází restrukturalizace v konkrétních podmínkách. Práce popisuje také vývoj regionální politiky a regionálních strategií zaměřený nejprve na restrukturalizaci velkých podniků těžkého průmyslu, dále na vytvoření podmínek pro diverzifikaci průmyslového zaměření, a následné zajištění ekonomické stabilizace, růstu a budoucího rozvoj kraje. Závěrečná analýza vybraných makroekonomických ukazatelů se zaměřuje na jejich vývoj v čase a následné srovnání s vývojem zvolených ukazatelů v celorepublikovém průměru. V závěru je pak dopad změny zhodnoceny a vyvozená zjištění porovnána s aktuálním zaměřením krajských strategií.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the transformation of the sectoral structure in the Moravian-Silesian Region and analyses and evaluates the impact of this change on the regional economy by means of selected macroeconomic indicators. The thesis describes the history and development of the local industry over time, focusing on the period from the year 2000 to the present. The transformation of the structure of the economy during this period is traced, particularly in relation to the efforts of regional actors and institutions to manage the different phases of restructuring in specific conditions. The study also describes the development of regional policy and regional strategies aimed firstly at restructuring large heavy industry enterprises, then at creating conditions for diversification of industrial specialisation, and subsequently ensuring economic stabilization, growth and future development of the region.The final analysis of selected macroeconomic indicators focuses on their development over time and subsequent comparison with the development of selected indicators in the national average. In the end, the impact of the change is then assessed and the findings are compared with the current focus of the regional strategies.
