Development of motor skills and physical activity in children in sports and non-sports classes of primary schools

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá posouzením úrovně motoriky ve vztahu k pohybové aktivitě u dětí školního věku. Studie se zúčastnilo celkem 20 dívek ve věku 13 let (10 dívek navštěvující sportovní ZŠ, 10 dívek navštěvující nesportovní ZŠ). Testování proběhlo s pomocí standardizované testové baterie MABC-2. Tato testová baterie obsahuje pro danou věkovou skupinu soubor osmi úkolů zaměřených na jemnou motoriku, hrubou motoriku a rovnováhu. Dále byl použit standardizovaný dotazník pohybové aktivity dětí PAQ-C/CZ. Cílem této práce bylo posoudit úroveň motoriky ve vztahu k pohybové aktivitě u dětí školního věku. Ve výsledném porovnání dvou skupin dívek nebyly zjištěny žádné statisticky významné rozdíly. U těchto dvou skupin vůči sobě nebyl zjištěn rozdíl ani v úrovni pohybové aktivity. Významná korelace byla zjištěna u obou skupin mezi pohybovou aktivitou a komponentou rovnováhy. Hodnota korelace byla 0,475. Z toho vyplývá, že dívky s vyšší pohybovou aktivitou dosáhly lepších hodnot v komponentě rovnováhy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the level of motor skills in relation to physical activity in school-age children. A total of 20 girls at the age of 13 participated in the study (10 girls attending a sports elementary school, 10 girls attending a non-sport elementary school). Testing was done using the MABC-2 standardized test battery. This test battery contains, for a given age group, a set of eight tasks focusing on fine motor skills, gross motor skills and balance. Furthermore, a standardized physical activity questionnaire for children PAQ-C/CZ was used. The aim of this work was to assess the level of motor skills in relation to physical activity in school-aged children. No statistically significant differences were found in the resulting comparison of the two groups of girls. There was no difference in the level of physical activity between these two groups. A significant correlation was found in both groups between physical activity and the balance component. The correlation value was 0.475. It follows that, girls with higher physical activity achieved better values in the balance component.
