Possibilities of using the Easy Project application in teaching the subject 4IT414 – IS/ICT project management

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaobírá především problematikou projektového řízení. Řeší softwarovou podporu projektového řízení jak ve vodopádovém, tak agilním stylu. Konkrétně se zaobírá kurzem 4IT414 – Řízení projektů IS/ICT na fakultě informatiky a statistiky na Vysoké škole ekonomické, v rámci něhož řeší analýzu výukových požadavků a možností jak je naplnit, pomocí softwarové opory Microsoft Project či Easy Project. Primárním cílem práce je analyzovat potenciální přínosy a možná rizika/problémy s využitím softwarové podpory v Microsoft project a Easy Project, ve výuce kurzu 4IT414. Dalším souvisejícím cílem je navržení různých variant zapojení a využití již zmiňované softwarové opory ve výuce kurzu 4IT414. Tedy zda nová zvažovaná softwarová opora v podobě Easy Projectu, dostatečně vyhovuje požadavkům kurzu. V rámci tohoto cíle bylo stanoveno několik variant. Varianta, kdy se při výuce uplatní oba nástroje, varianta uplatnění pouze jednoho nástroje, ale existují i jiné varianty, které popisuji v kapitole 5. Posledním cílem této práce je vytvoření návodů pro využití aplikace Easy Project ve výuce kurzu 4IT414. Dané návody by využívali jak učitelé, tak budoucí studenti kurzu. Přínosem této práce je rozšíření povědomí o možnostech praktického využití zvolených nástrojů pro výuku ve specifickém prostředí kurzu 4IT414 – Řízení projektů IS/ICT. Práce reflektuje potřebu porovnání výše zmíněných nástrojů pro podporu rozhodnutí garanta kurzu o tom, zdali může být nástroj Easy Project od společnosti Easy Software, začleněn v nějaké formě do výuky v kurzu 4IT414. Práce vychází z aktuální situace v kurzu 4IT414 a verzí nástrojů MS Project a Easy Project k listopadu roku 2023.

Abstract:

This thesis mainly deals with the issue of project management. It addresses software project management support in both waterfall and agile styles. Specifically, the thesis deals with the course 4IT414 - IS/ICT project management at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics at the University of Economics, in which are analyzed the learning requirements and the possibilities of how to fulfill them, using the software support Microsoft Project or Easy Project. The primary objective of the work is to analyze potential benefits and possible risks/problems with the use of software support in Microsoft Project and Easy Project, in the teaching of the course 4IT414. Another related goal is the design of various variants of how to use the already mentioned support software in the teaching of the 4IT414 course. That is, whether the new considered support software in the form of Easy Project sufficiently meets the requirements of the course. Within this goal, several variants have been established. The variant where both tools are used during teaching, the variant of using only one tool, but there are other variants that I describe in chapter 5. The last goal of this work is to create instructions for using the Easy Project application in the teaching of the 4IT414 course. The given instructions would be used by both teachers and future students of the course. The contribution of this work is the broadening of awareness about the possibilities of practical use of the selected teaching tools in the specific environment of the course 4IT414 – IS/ICT project management. The work reflects the need to compare the aforementioned tools to support the course guarantor's decision on whether the Easy Project tool from the Easy Software company can be incorporated in some form into the teaching of the 4IT414 course. The work is based on the current situation in the 4IT414 course and the versions of the MS Project and Easy Project tools as of November 2023.
