Attitude of activation workers, social workers and leading workers to work with the elderly with dementia

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá postojem aktivizačních, sociálních a vedoucích pracovníků v domovech pro seniory k práci se seniory s demencí. Týká se toho, jak pracovníci vnímají způsob práce se seniory s demencí, jak vnímají podpůrné metody práce s klienty a spolupráci s rodinami seniorů, jak jejich práci prožívají a jakým způsobem pracovníci při práci s klienty jednají. Teoretická část obsahuje pojmy týkající se stáří, demence, nefarmakologických metod, které se mohou u seniorů s demencí používat a pojem postoj. Metodologická část vymezuje zvolenou výzkumnou techniku a kroky postupu realizace. Interpretační část se věnuje výzkumu, jeho výsledkům a kontextu mezi kategoriemi, subkategoriemi a dimenzemi, které byly vytvořeny z odpovědí respondentů. Jsou zkoumány příčiny a důsledky chování pracovníků na základě určitého postoje. V závěru je odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku a doporučení pro další výzkum.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the Attitude of activation workers, social workers and leading workers in homes for the elderly people to work with the elderly people with dementia. It is about how workers perceive the way you work with the elderly people with dementia, how they perceive the supporting methods of working with clients and co-operation with the families of the elderly people, how they experience their work and how workers when working with clients act. The theoretical part includes concepts related to old age, dementia, non-pharmacological methods, which may be for elderly people with dementia to use and the term attitude. The methodological section defines the chosen research technique and steps of implementation. The interpretation part is devoted to research, its results and context between categories, sub-categories and dimensions that were created from the respondents' answers. In addition it reviews the causes and consequences of the behaviour of workers, based on a certain attitude. In conclusion is the answer to the main research question and recommendations for further research.
