Subject of resistence in the poetic production of the Czech folk singers in the 70's and the 80's

Abstract:

Práce analyzuje téma vzdoru v básnické tvorbě českých písničkářů sedmdesátých a osmdesátých let. Jde především o skrytý protest zaměřený proti totalitnímu režimu. Hlavním předmětem zkoumání je motivické zaměření v písních jednotlivých autorů. Práce se zamýšlí nad textovým obsahem folkových protestních písní a jejich kontextem. Důležité jsou názory a hodnoty, které se skrývaly za písňovými texty a jejich prezentací. Práce vymezuje pojmy písničkář, folk a protestsong a poukazuje na dějinné souvislosti a zásahy režimu. Folkoví písničkáři, nesouhlasící s komunistickým režimem, reagovali pomocí dvojsmyslů a jinotajů ve svých textech na politickou i společenskou situaci, kritizovali ji a upozorňovali na její nedostatky. Stávali se tak mluvčími národa, který se v době normalizace nemohl svobodně vyjadřovat. Nebýt písničkářů, patrně by ztotožnění se s revolucí nebylo tak samozřejmé a všeobecné. Protestují otevřeně a snaží se najít a obvinit původce bezpráví. Práce se dále zaměřuje na tvorbu pěti protestních písničkářů. Karel Kryl byl jedním z hlavních představitelů českého protikomunistického odboje a exilu v letech 1968-1989, ceněný pro uměleckou schopnost vystihnout problematiku přesně a výstižně. Pro Vladimíra Mertu byl charakteristický komplikovaný, sebezpytný protest a otevřenost, s jakou mluvil o problémech. Jaromír Nohavica, jehož obrazy či jinotaje byly často tak pochopitelné a průhledné, že se blížily přímé kritice, je znám svými drzými a buřičskými písničkami s motivy svobody. Jan Vodňanský, autor groteskních, hravých a absurdních textů, je ceněn pro svou schopnost zobrazení světa kolem a neustálé přemítání o životě. Jiří Dědeček si publikum získal především svými slovními hříčkami a drsnými vtipy.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis analyzing theme of defiance in the poetic work of Czech folksingers in the Seventies and the Eighties. It is primarily focused on the hidden protest against the totalitarian regime. The main subject of investigation is targeting motifs in the songs of the individual authors. This thesis examines the text content of folk protest songs and their kontext. Thesis clarifies the term folksinger, folk and protestsong and points to the historical context and the intervention regime. Folksingers who disagreed with kommunist regime, responded by using metaphors and disambiguation in their texts on political and social situation, criticized her and pointed to shortcomings. They have become spokespersons of the people, who could not freely express at the time of normalization. They openly protest and try to find and accuse the producer of injustice. Thesis also focuses on creating five protest singers: Karel Kryl was one of the main representatives of Czech anti-communist resistance and exile during 1968-1989, valued for artistic ability to capture the issues accurately and concisely. For Vladimir Merta was characterized complicated protest and openness with which he spoke about the probléme. Jaromir Nohavica, whose paintings and allegories were often so understandable and transparent, that is close to a direct criticism, is known for his bold and firebrand songs with themes of freedom. Jan Vodňanský, author grotesque, absurd and playful text, is valued for his ability to display around the world and constant reflection on life. Jiří Dědeček won the audience for his wordplay and rough jokes.
