In this thesis we study machine learning algorithms called artificial neural networks. We introduce the motivation for development of neural networks as an extension of simpler algorithms and we thoroughly describe the behavior of feedforward neural networks, as well as their training paradigm. V tejto diplomovej práci sa venujeme algoritmom strojového učenia nazývaným neurónové siete. Venujeme sa motivácii ich vzniku na základe jednoduchších algoritmov, podrobne popisujeme fungovanie tzv. dopredných neurónových sietí a spôsob ich učenia.
