Globální osvětlení velkou mírou přispívá k přirozenosti syntetického obrazu, kvůli výpočetní náročnosti je však v aplikacích pracujících v reálném čase spíše novinkou. Global illumination has a big impact on the realism of a synthetic image, but due to its computational cost it is quite new to the world of real-time applications.
