Physical, psychological and social changes in women after childbirth

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou nejrůznějších změn, které nastávají u ženy po porodu. V teoretické části se zaměřím na jednotlivé oblasti života ženy - nastíním změny fyzické, psychické, sociální a změny v sexualitě. Nejprve se pokusím podat stručnou charakteristiku období po porodu. Dále se budu zabývat změnami fyzickými, především těmi viditelnými, které na sobě může žena po porodu zpozorovat a které ji mohou trápit. Další kapitola bude věnována změnám psychickým. Kromě popisu nejčastějších pocitů a nálad, které může žena po porodu prožívat, zmíním také nejčastější psychické poruchy. V další kapitole se budu zabývat změnami v sociální oblasti, a to nástupem mateřské role a změnami partnerského vztahu po porodu. Samostatnou kapitolu věnuji změnám v sexualitě. Cílem empirické části práce je prostřednictvím kvantitativní dotazníkové metody zmapovat, jaké změny zaznamenaly ženy po porodu ve všech zmíněných oblastech - zjistit, zda a jak se u žen po porodu změnil pohled na vlastní tělo, jak vysoké procento žen prožilo po porodu jakékoliv psychické potíže, jak ženy zvládají roli matky a zároveň partnerky a jak se po porodu změnila jejich sexualita. Dalším bodem práce je diskuse, v níž jsou porovnány výsledky tohoto průzkumu s jednotlivými cíli práce a s informacemi od různých autorů a odborníků. Na závěr budou shrnuty výsledky průzkumu a dostupné poznatky k této problematice a nabídnuto doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the various changes, that women feels after childbirth. The theoretical part will focus on individual areas of a woman's life - I will describe the physical, psychical, social and sexuality changes. First of all, I will try to give a brief description of the postpartum period. Furthermore, I will deal with physical changes, especially those visible by woman herself after childbirth which could torment her. Next chapter will be devoted to mental changes. Besides the description of the most common feelings and moods that a woman can experience after the birth, I will mention the most common mental disturbances. In the next chapter I will adress the changes in the social field - onset of maternal role and changes in relationship after childbirth. A separate chapter will be devoted to changes in sexuality. The aim of the empirical part is through quantitative questionnaire method map the changes experienced by the postpartum women in all these areas - to determine whether and how women after childbirth changed view of her own body, percentage of women that has experienced any psychological problems after giving the birth, how can women handle the role of mother and a partner at the same time and how has changed her sexuality after birth. Another chapter of work is the discussion, which will compare the results of this survey with the individual goals of work and informations from various authors and experts. In conclusion I will summarize the results of the survey and available knowledge on this matter, and offer the recommendations for practice.
