Nonlinear ordinary differential equation of the first order: properties of solution and its analytical approximations

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na studium konkrétní obyčejné diferenciální rovnice 1. řádu, kterou nelze analyticky vyřešit. Nejprve pravou stranu rovnice aproximujeme pomocí Taylorova polynomu 1. a 3. stupně. V obou případech vypočteme a porovnáme řešení aproximací oproti řešení původní úlohy získanému v softwaru Wolfram Mathematica. V druhé části se zaměříme na vlastnosti řešení již ze samotného zadání diferenciální rovnice, jakými jsou například lokální minima a maxima, konkávnost a konvexita a intervaly, kde řešení roste nebo klesá. Nakonec bude řešení rovnice omezeno shora i zdola pomocí Gronwallova lemmatu a jemnějších odhadů na menších intervalech. Součástí práce jsou obrázky vypracované v počítačovém programu Wolfram Mathematica.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the study of a first order ordinary differential equation that cannot be solved analytically. First, we use the Taylor polynomial of the 1st and 3rd degree to approximate the right side of the equation. In both cases, we calculate and compare the solution of the approximations against the solution of the original problem obtained in the Wolfram Mathematica software. In the second part, we will focus on the properties of the solution from the differential equation itself, such as local minima and maxima, concavity and convexity, and intervals where the solution increases or decreases. Finally, the solution of the equation will be bounded from above and below using the Gronwall lemma and finer estimates on smaller intervals. The work includes images created with the computer program Wolfram Mathematica.
