Cutting forces during cross-cutting of native wood with a miter saw

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá rozborem řezných sil, při dělení nativního dřeva. Místo klasického strojního konstantního posuvu jsme zvolili konstantní posuvovou sílu, která má simulovat velikost ručního posuvu. Na experiment jsme zvolili čtyři pilové kotouče s různými počty zubů a dvě dřeviny. Data jsme měřili pomocí dynamometru Kistler 9257 B, pomocí výpočtu jsme sestavili Ernst-Merchant diagramy a vypočítali řezné síly a řezný výkon pro každý kotouč a dřevinu. Výsledkem bylo zjištění, že se zvyšujícím počtem pilových zubů u obou dřevin klesá jak řezná síla, tak i řezný výkon. Řezný výkon je ovlivněn především časem samotného řezu, kde s počtem pilových zubů roste i čas řezu. Doporučením tedy je používat kotouče s nižším počtem pilových zubů, protože kladou menší odpor při posuvu do řezu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of cutting forces in the division of native wood. Instead of the classical machine's constant feed, we chose a constant feed force of 30 N to simulate the amount of manual feed. For the experiment, we chose four saw blades with different numbers of teeth and two types of a woody plant. We measured the data using a Kistler 9257 B dynamometer, computed Ernst-Merchant diagrams and calculated cutting forces and cutting power for each blade and wood. As a result, as the number of saw teeth increased in both tree species, both the cutting force and the cutting performance decreased. The cutting performance is influenced mainly by the cutting time, where the cutting time increases with the number of saw teeth. It is therefore advisable to use blades with a lower number of saw teeth, as they impart less resistance when sliding.
