Mathematical models in non-life insurance

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to present basic mathematical models used in non-life insurance. First, we will explain the basic concepts from probability theory that we will be working with. Subsequently, we will introduce discrete and continuous distributions that are used to model the number and amount of insurance claims. In the next chapter, we will focus on estimating distribution parameters. In the concluding theoretical part, we define the collective risk model and provide procedures for obtaining it. In the practical part, we apply the acquired knowledge to a specific data set.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je představení základních matematických modelů využívaných v neživotním pojištění. Nejprve vysvětlíme základní pojmy z teorie pravděpodobnosti, se kterými budeme pracovat. Následně představíme diskrétní a spojité rozdělení, které se používají k modelování počtu a výše pojistných nároků. V další kapitole se budeme věnovat odhadům parametrů rozdělení. V závěru teoretické části definujeme kolektivní model rizika a uvedeme postupy pro jeho získání. V praktické části aplikujeme získané poznatky na konkrétním datovém souboru.
