Communication of a Teacher with Children Speaking Different Native Language in Kindergarten

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce má teoreticko-empirický charakter a zabývá se komunikací učitele v mateřské škole s dětmi s odlišným mateřským jazykem. Teoretická část sumarizuje poznatky týkající se komunikace mezi učitelem a dítětem s odlišným mateřským jazykem a také se zabývá problematikou interkulturní komunikace. V praktické části je hlavním cílem odkrýt, jak probíhá komunikace učitele s dětmi mluvícími odlišným mateřským jazykem. Výzkumné šetření je kvalitativního charakteru, bylo použito polostrukturovaného interview a nestrukturovaného pozorování. Data byla následně analyzována pomocí otevřeného kódování. Výzkumný vzorek tvořilo devět učitelek z dostupných mateřských školek ve Zlínskem kraji. Na základě analýzy dat bylo zjištěno, jak probíhá komunikace mezi učitelem a dítětem s odlišným mateřským jazykem, v jakých aspektech vnímají proces komunikace jako specifický, jaké postupy jsou uplatňovány při komunikaci a s jakými komplikacemi se učitele potýkají.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is theoretical-empirical and it deals with the communication of kindergarten teachers with children who have a different native language. The theoretical part summarizes findings about communication between teachers and a child with a different native language, and it also addresses the issue of intercultural communication. The practical part aims to discover how teachers communicate with children who have a different native language. The research is qualitative, and semi-structured interviews and unstructured observations were used. The data were analysed through open coding. The research sample consisted of nine teachers from available kindergartens in the Zlín Region. The data analysis revealed how teachers communicate with children who have a different native language, in what aspects they perceive the communication process to be specific, what procedures they use in communication, and what complications the teachers face.
