Slovaks in the Ostrava region during socialist industrialization

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahem mezi Čechy a Slováky, a to primárně v oblasti Ostravského kraje. Popisuje migrační pohyby obyvatelstva v rámci Československa, tedy stěhování Slováků do českých zemí a dále popisuje hospodářské důvody, jež k tomu pohybu obyvatelstva vedly. Okrajově se věnuje i vzniku a formování společného státu Čechů a Slováků. Tato práce dále rámcově popisuje společnou historii a události našich dějin 20. století. Zejména období tzv. socialistické industrializace a obecně celé období vlády komunistického režimu u nás. Již v počátku této práce je věnován prostor i pojmu Čechoslovakismus. Analyzuje jeho chápaní jak zakladateli společného státu, tak jeho odpůrci. Dále jsou v této práci vypsány národností menšiny žijící na našem území a podrobně opisuje směr odkud a kam docházelo k migraci obyvatel v rámci společného státu a vysvětluje především ekonomické důvody, které vedly k pohybu obyvatel.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the relationship between Czechs and Slovaks, primarily in the Ostrava region. It describes the migratory movements of the population within Czechoslovakia, that is the migration of Slovaks to the Czech lands and the economic reasons that led to this population movement. It also focuses marginally on the establishing and forming of the common state of Czechs and Slovaks. This work also describes the common history and events of our 20-th century history. In particular, the period of so-called socialist industrialisation and in general the whole period of the communist regime in our country. Already at the beginning of this work, space is devoted to the concept of Czechoslovakism. It analyses its understanding founders of the common state and its opponents. Furthermore, this thesis lists the national minorities living in our territory and describes in detail the direction from where and to where the migration of the population within the common state took place and explains mainly the economic reasons that led to the movement of the population.
