Memories of Jindřich Sitta (military missions AČR Afganistan and Persian Gulf)

Abstract:

Moje bakalářská práce se zabývá vojenskými misemi Armády České republiky od Války v Zálivu v letech 1990/91 po první účast naší armády v Afghánistánu, která proběhla mezi lety 2002/03. Nedílnou součástí této práce je i biografie válečného veterána plk. v zál. MUDr. Jindřicha Sitty, který se osobně účastnil Války v Zálivu i mise v Afghánistánu. Byl zakladatelem 6. polní nemocnice, které ve své době byla jedna z nejlepších na světě. Cílem této práce bude charakterizovat jednotlivé mise AČR v období od pádu komunismu v Československu po první účast v protiteroristické misi v Afghánistánu. Další část této práce zaujímá biografie plk. v zál. MUDr. Jindřicha Sitty, při které jsem vycházel ze vzpomínek Jindřicha Sitty a z knižních a internetových zdrojů týkající se AČR. Moje práce shrnuje první mise AČR v zahraničí a umožní tak sepsání rozsáhlejších prací týkající se účasti českých vojáků v zahraničí. Dále biografie Jindřicha Sitty může do budoucna posloužit při sestavování pamětí účastníků Války v Zálivu, nebo Afghánistánu.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis deals with the military missions of the Army of the Czech Republic from the Gulf War in 1990/91, after the first participation of our army in Afghanistan, which took place in 2002/03. An integral part of this work is the biography of war veteran Reserve Colonel Dr. Jindřich Sitta, MD, who personally participated in the Gulf War, as well as missions in Afghanistan. He was the founder of the 6th Field Hospital, which at the time was one of the best in the world. The aim of this thesis is to characterize individual ACR missions in the period since the fall of Communism in Czechoslovakia after the first participation in the anti-terrorist mission in Afghanistan. The next part of this thesis concerns the biography of Reserve Colonel Dr. Jindřich Sitta, MD, based on the memories of Jindřich Sitta, as well as books and internet sources concerned with ACR. My work summarizes the first ACR missions abroad, and will allow for writing more extensive work on the participation of Czech soldiers abroad. Furthermore, Jindřich Sitta's biography can serve in the future when compiling memoirs of participants in the Gulf War, or the war in Afghanistan.
