The adaptation process of a beginning teacher

Abstract:

Tato práce pojednává o adaptačním období začínajících učitelů, což je časové období, po které si začínající učitel zvyká na novou roli, kterou má ztvárnit. Učí se žít v novém prostředí, s novými spolupracovníky, se žáky a seznamuje se s administrativou spojenou s touto profesí. Pojednává se zde o tom, jak by se mělo se začínajícími učiteli zacházet, kde a jak jim podat pomocnou ruku, ale taky o naslouchání jejich poznatkům a případným inovacím, které může nově příchozí pozorovat a zaběhlého kantora to nemusí napadnout (takzvaná „profesní slepota“). Řeší se zde, jaký může mít správné uvedení nového učitele přínos, pro něj, pro školu, a hlavně pro žáky, kteří jsou samozřejmě středem celého tohoto systému. Učitelství je živý proces, kde je nutné jít s dobou, dnes už nejde o pouhé předávání vědomostí, ale stále více se řeší role učitele jako vychovatele, který kromě vědomostí předává i hodnoty. Správný učitel by tedy měl být i dobrým morálním vzorem, který zároveň zaujme a žáci ho budou rádi následovat. Vše je však na jejich dobrovolnosti a může tedy nastat i případ, kdy učitel bude mít patřičné vzdělání, vědomosti, bude mít co nabídnout, ale nebude žáky přijat a respektován. Stěžejní částí této práce jsou kvalitativní rozhovory s konkrétními lidmi, kteří popisují své začátky s uvádějícím učitelem, který pomáhá nováčkům s adaptací a také pohled žáka na situaci nového učitele.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses the adaptation period of beginning teachers, which is the period of time after which the beginning teacher gets used to the new role he is supposed to play. He learns to live in a new environment, with new colleagues, with pupils and gets to know the administration associated with this profession. It deals here with how beginning teachers should be treated, where and how to give them a helping hand, but also about listening to their knowledge and possible innovations that a newcomer can observe and an experienced cantor may not think of (so-called "professional blindness"). It is discussed here what benefit the proper introduction of a new teacher can have, for him, for the school and especially for the pupils, who are of course the center of this entire system. Teaching is a living process where it is necessary to keep up with the times, today it is no longer just a question of passing on knowledge, but the role of the teacher as an educator who, in addition to knowledge, also passes on values is increasingly addressed. Therefore, the right teacher should also be a good moral role model, who at the same time impresses and the students will be happy to follow him. However, everything depends on their voluntariness, and there may be a case where a teacher has the appropriate education, knowledge, has something to offer, but is not accepted and respected by the students. The difficult parts of this work are qualitative interviews with specific people who describe their beginnings, with the introducing teacher who helps newcomers with adaptation, and also the student's view of the new teacher's situation.
