Education in Hnutí Brontosaurus on an example of a volunteering event

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je výzkum vzdělávacího potenciálu dobrovolnicko-zážitkových akcí pořádaných Hnutím Brontosaurus. Práce se zaměřuje na roli larpu a dobrovolnictví v zážitkové pedagogice a jejich přínos pro mládež. Diplomovou práci tvoří dvě části – teoretická a empirická. První část je zpracována metodou rešerše odborné literatury i dalších textů a kompilací jejich vybraných fragmentů do podoby vypovídajícího komplexního textu. Představuje organizaci Hnutí Brontosaurus a její systém vzdělávání, zkoumá kořeny i současný stav zážitkové pedagogiky v České republice. Zaměřuje se také na zkoumání pojmu larp a souvisejících aktivit. V neposlední řadě mapuje dobrovolnictví s důrazem na památkovou péči a péči o přírodu. Empirickou část práce pak tvoří případová studie dobrovolnické víkendové akce pro mládež s larpovou tematikou, která vznikla pro účely této práce. Pod názvem „Ve jménu otce“ byla uvedena v prostorech dobrovolnické památkové lokality klášter Porta Coeli. Součástí diplomové práce je návrh a realizace tohoto projektu i návrh možných zlepšení.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse the educational potential of volunteering events organized by Hnutí Brontosaurus. It focuses on the role of larp and volunteering work in experiental education and its benefits for the youth. The thesis consists of two parts – theoretical and empirical. The first part includes a research of the relevant literature and other documents, certains fragments of which were compiled into a complex text. It introduces Hnutí Brontosaurus and its educational system, analyses its origins as well as the current situation of the experiential education in the Czech Republic. It further explores the concept of larp and related activities. It also includes a mapping of volunteering with a special focus on historical preservation and environmental care. The empirical part includes a case study of a volunteering weekend event for youth with a larp theme, which was organized for the purposes of this work. The event called „Ve jménu otce“ was introduced in the premises of the Porta Coeli monastery, which is a volunteering monument site. A part of the thesis focuses on the preparation and implementation of the project as well as the possibilities for further improvements.
