Professional identity of a social pedagogue at school

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je profesní identita sociálního pedagoga ve škole. Téma je podle mého názoru velmi aktuální, a to z důvodu zavádění sociálně pedagogické profese do českého školství. Sociální pedagogové, kteří ve školách působí, se však nacházejí na nejistém pracovním místě, protože financování této odborné pozice je nestabilní. Profese sociálního pedagoga v České republice není oficiální profesí a přesné stanovení jejich kompetencí a úkolů, které jsou spojeny s vykonáváním profesní role, v legislativě chybí. Toto nejasné vymezení společně se zmíněnou nestabilitou pracovního místa se může odrážet v prožitku profesní identity jejich nositelů. Diplomová práce je rozdělená na část teoretickou a výzkumnou. Teoretickou část jsem rozdělila na dvě hlavní části. V první z nich se věnuji uvedení do tématu sociální pedagogiky, a poté blíže specifikuji profesi sociálního pedagoga, jeho osobnostní i profesní kompetence a možnosti jeho profesního působení. V druhé polovině teoretické části diplomové práce podrobněji rozebírám problematiku profesní identity a dávám ji do souvislostí s pojmy identifikace s profesní rolí, autonomie v profesním vývoji a angažovanost v zaměstnání. Ve výzkumné části diplomové práce zkoumám profesní identitu sociálních pedagogů působících na základních školách. Tato část obsahuje metodologii výzkumu, který jsem uskutečňovala formou kvalitativní výzkumné strategie s použitím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s celkem 11 respondenty. Cílem výzkumné části práce bylo odkrýt subjektivní vnímání profesní identity sociálních pedagogů a popsat proces jejího formování. Obsahem této části jsou teoretická východiska výzkumu, cíl výzkumu i výzkumný problém, výzkumné otázky a také limity výzkumného šetření. Na závěr této části se věnuji interpretaci získaných dat a jejich analýze.

Abstract:

The topic of the diploma thesis is the professional identity of a social pedagogue at school. In my opinion, the topic is very actual, due to the introduction of the social pedagogic profession into Czech educational system. However, social pedagogues working in schools are in an uncertain position, as the funding for this professional position is unstable. The profession of social pedagogue in the Czech Republic is not an official profession, and the legislation does not precisely define their competences and tasks, which relate to the performance of their professional role. This unclear definition, together with the mentioned instability of the workplace, can be reflected in the experience of the professional identity of the pedagogues. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and a research part. I divided the theoretical part into two main parts. In the first of them, I focus on the introduction to the topic of social pedagogy, and then I specify the profession of a social pedagogue, his personal and professional competences, and the possibilities of his professional activity. In the second half of the theoretical part, I analyze the issue of professional identity in more detail and relate it to the concepts of identification with a professional role, autonomy in professional development and engagement in employment. In the research part of the diploma thesis, I further examine the professional identity of social pedagogues working in primary schools. This part contains the methodology of the research, which I carried out in the form of a qualitative research strategy using semi-structured interviews with a total of 11 respondents. The aim of the research part of the work was to reveal the subjective perception of the professional identity of social pedagogues and to describe the process of its formation. The contents of this part are the theoretical starting points of the research, the goal of the research and the research problem, research questions and also the limits of the research investigation. At the end of this part, I focus on the interpretation of gathered data and their analysis.
