Problems of the death penalty in modern society

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je přispět k diskusím o smyslu trestu smrti v současné společnosti. Úvod práce je věnován pohledu na trest smrti v historickém kontextu. Část práce se zabývá porovnáním technik využívaných k výkonu trestu smrti v dřívějších dobách a v současnosti. Práce má poukázat na trest smrti jako občanskoprávní problém. Práce se také zabývá lidskými právy a trestem smrti ve světě a v Evropě. Závěr práce je věnován rozdílným pohledům na trest smrti.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make a contribution to discussions on a sense of a death penalty in today's society. Its introduction is devoted to a view of a death sentence in a historical context. A part of this thesis deals with a comparison of methods which were used for executions of death penalties in the past and at present. This work intends to show a death penalty as a civil legal problem. This work is also concerned with human rights and death penalty in the world and Europe. A conclusion is devoted to various opinions of a death penalty.
